Pet Etiquette

The Orchard Run by-Laws say that pet owners are responsible to “clean up” any and all solid waste deposited by their pet. The community has supplied several disposal stations throughout the neighborhood with waste bags and receptacles. Pets should not be a source of annoyance or nuisance to the neighborhood or other members. Pet owners should always "pick-up" after their pet. Let's face it, this is not only the law, but a sign of a considerate pet owner/neighbor. Pet owners are also reminded to keep their dog on a leash at all times when outdoors. Please be aware that failure to follow the proper rules concerning your pet could result in a monetary fine being imposed or action being taken to remove the pet from the community. For the most expeditious and effective action, complaints should be referred to the Montgomery County Department of Animal Control at (240)773-5960. Complaints concerning a pet owner who allows such problems to occur may also be made by WRITING to: Vanguard Management, P.O. Box 39 Germantown, Md. 20874 or email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . Action can only be taken upon receipt of a written and signed complaint. Confidentiality will be protected to the greatest extent possible.
Your complaint must include:
- The date and time of the incident,
- A description of the pet,
- The address of the owner to whom the pet belongs
